Falcom revealed plans for a new project called Dragon Slayer Project, celebrating the company’s 45th anniversary. Details about the game’s type, which consoles it will be on, and when it will be released haven’t been shared yet.

The original Dragon Slayer game debuted on the PC-8801 computer in 1984 and was advertised as a groundbreaking, realistic role-playing experience.
The game stood out thanks to its innovative features. It had straightforward controls – players could attack by bumping into enemies – and a unique progression system where characters got stronger by bringing earned experience and items back to base. It also featured puzzles that needed both specific items and magic to solve. Many early PC gamers hailed it as a classic action RPG.
After playing the original Dragon Slayer, I got really into the sequels they put out. Games like Xanadu, Romancia, Legacy of the Wizard, and Sorcerian all built on that same world and gameplay, and I loved exploring them all!
The sixth game in the Dragon Slayer series, Dragon Slayer: The Legend of Heroes, featured turn-based battles and focused on memorable characters, a detailed world, and a strong storyline. This game spawned the Legend of Heroes spin-off series, which eventually led to the Trails story RPGs, starting with The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky.
