The official account for the Hyakuemu (100 Meters) anime project has unveiled its first full trailer, scheduled to hit Japanese theaters on September 19, 2025. Notably, the theme song “Rashisa” will be sung by Official HiGE DANDISM, a band known for their work on hits like Spy x Family, Tokyo Revengers, and Blue Box. The band shared that they aimed to capture the film’s themes of self-doubt and overcoming obstacles in their composition. With an enthusiastic team, cast, and crew working on this production, Hyakuemu promises to effectively deliver its interpersonal messages and establish itself as one of the standout anime films of 2024, a year that also features anticipated releases like Chainsaw Man and Madoka Magica in cinemas.
Hyakuemu’s Release Is Looking Amazing
Kenji Iwaisawa will be directing the upcoming film at ROCK’N ROLL MOUNTAIN studio, with Yasuyuki Muto penning the script (known for Afro Samurai and Tokyo Revengers). Keisuke Kojima will take on character design duties as well as serving as chief animation director, while Hiroaki Tsutsumi (Jujutsu Kaisen, Dr. Stone) handles the music. Notable voice actors like Kenjiro Tsuda (Nanami Kento, Overhaul) and Koki Uchiyawama (Kei Tsukishima, Tomura Shigaraki) are also part of the project. Given the big names and experienced professionals involved, fans can feel confident that the movie is in capable hands.
As a naturally talented sprinter, Togashi would breeze through races like nothing when he was just a kid. In his sixth year of school, he encounters Komiya, a new student who is resolute but lacks skill. Assisting Komiya sets fire to Togashi’s competitive spirit. Fast forward to later years, they cross paths again on the track as competitors, challenging and revealing their true selves in the process.
The movie has been showcased at the Annecy International Film Festival, where it’s been highly acclaimed for its captivating and extraordinary chase sequences, thought-provoking exploration of themes, and outstanding soundtracks. Every aspect of this film seems promising, and with a U.S theater release planned as well, there are plenty of reasons to consider watching the production from the mind of Orb‘s creator.
