The Fall 2025 anime season was eagerly awaited, particularly with the return of One-Punch Man for its third season. Though that series hasn’t lived up to expectations, all attention quickly shifted to My Hero Academia, which is finishing its ten-year run. Since the final arc began, My Hero Academia has consistently been the best anime of the season. Episode three, featuring Bakugo’s comeback, was widely praised as one of the series’ and even the year’s best. However, the most recent episode, showing the final battle and ending the main conflict, has become even more popular, earning the top rating of 2025.
The latest episode of My Hero Academia, titled “Izuku Midoriya Rising,” has received an incredibly high score of 9.9/10, making it the best-rated episode of the year so far. It surpassed previous top contenders like a particularly moving episode (1136) from One Piece that explored Kuma’s backstory, and the twelfth episode of Solo Leveling Season 2. This impressive rating shows how much My Hero Academia has resonated with fans over its ten-year run and confirms its continued popularity.
Shonen Jump’s Popular Series’ Latest Episode Becomes the Best of the Year

As a huge anime fan, I have to say the final season of My Hero Academia is absolutely blowing me away! It’s incredible – every single episode so far, all eight of them, has gotten over nine stars on IMDb. That’s a massive achievement! Even shows everyone loves, like Solo Leveling, haven’t managed that. Before this, only Takopi’s Original Sin had a perfect record, but it was a shorter series with just six episodes. My Hero Academia has now gone even further, making its final season the strongest and most consistently amazing season I’ve ever seen – it truly feels flawless!
The success of My Hero Academia comes from its manga perfectly capturing what makes the shonen genre so popular, and it might be the last series to do so. With over 400 chapters, My Hero Academia is currently the longest-running shonen manga, and it doesn’t look like any new series – not even Black Clover – will reach that length anytime soon. This suggests My Hero Academia could be a uniquely long-lasting series in its genre.
Honestly, I’m blown away by how much everyone is loving the final season, especially the latest episode! What really got to me – and clearly a lot of other fans – is how they wrapped up Deku’s story. It wasn’t about him becoming some distant, unbeatable hero. Instead, they showed that his true strength is bringing people together and inspiring them. That’s what makes this ending so special, and it’s a really refreshing take compared to a lot of other shonen series finales. Seriously, everyone’s calling My Hero Academia and Deku’s journey one of the best shonen experiences ever, and I totally agree – it’s easily one of the strongest series of the year!
