Whatever Margot Robbie’s soul is made of, she knows how to dazzle on a red carpet.
For the promotion of her Wuthering Heights adaptation, she deliberately chose fashion inspired by the 1840s—looks that Emily Brontë herself would likely recognize, but with a modern, edgy flair reflecting director Emerald Fennell’s style.
Margot Robbie’s fashion choices during her recent press tour have largely revolved around classic elements like corsets and full gowns, but she’s given them a contemporary twist. Stylist Andrew Mukamal has helped her update these looks with details like cutouts, shorter lengths, sheer lace, and a striking blood-red color scheme that ties into the film’s aesthetic.
Emerald Fennell’s new take on the story is signaled by the use of quotation marks in the title, suggesting a significant reimagining of the original. Margot Robbie’s fashion choices during promotional events clearly reflect this fresh approach.
Consider the Schiaparelli dress she wore to the movie premiere on January 28th. It began with a classic sweetheart neckline, but quickly transitioned into something more dramatic: a tight-fitting black and nude lace bodice paired with a full, layered skirt in black and red.
But the most stunning part of her look was the diamond locket she wore. It wasn’t just any jewelry – it was the famous Taj Majal diamond, a gift from her husband, Richard Burton, many years ago to Elizabeth Taylor.
Margot explained to Will Marfuggi of TopMob News at the movie premiere that the necklace was worn on a chain. She added that it has a fascinating background, and they felt it would be a lovely touch.

Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton’s famously dramatic love story—they married and divorced each other twice—mirrors the passionate, complicated relationships often found in Emily’s writing.
Margot said that if she had to compare her characters to a real-life couple, she’d choose Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, seeing a similar passionate dynamic between them and Catherine and Heathcliff.
While portraying her take on Catherine, actress Margot Robbie found excellent support from her co-star, Jacob Elordi.
Before the premiere of their film, Jacob and Margot attended a photo call at Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills. Jacob’s short Chanel blazer looked great with Margot’s outfit, which featured a striking red snakeskin corset and mini skirt by Dilara Findikoglu.
As a style expert, I’ve been watching Margot Robbie’s fashion choices, and while her bold red moments get a lot of attention, she truly shines in simpler looks too. I remember when she appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in this gorgeous, delicate black lace dress from McQueen’s Spring/Summer 26 collection – it was absolutely stunning and proved she can rock anything!
