The premiere of Fallout TV series Season 2 is still some time away, but before it airs, we have exclusive sneak peeks at some new images that give us a hint of what’s to come. The official Fallout Bluesky account released these pictures on Monday, offering a tiny glimpse into what viewers can anticipate in this second installment of the critically-acclaimed series.

In addition to featuring our main characters – Lucy MacLean (Ella Purnell), Maximus (Aaron Moten), and The Ghoul/Cooper (Walton Goggins) – we also catch a glimpse of Las Vegas before it was obliterated by the bombs, and its subsequent rebirth as New Vegas.

If you’re eager for more, your wait won’t be long, since the second season of the Fallout TV series will make its appearance at the Opening Night Live at Gamescom showcase on Aug 19, 2025; that’s 11:00 a.m. Pacific Time or 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

The Fallout TV series is a gargantuan hit for Bethesda and Prime Video so far

The debut of the first season of the Fallout TV series took place in April 2024, despite initial doubts about its success. Upon release, it earned critical acclaim, particularly for its storytelling that echoed the dark comedy characteristic of the games. In my review, I mentioned that the series delivers an engaging eight-hour narrative that leaves room for expansion in potential future seasons.

The show is spearheaded by Jonah Nolan and Lisa Joy, with Amazon MGM Studios, Bethesda Game Studios, and Kilter Films producing it for Prime Video. As of October 2024, it ranks among Amazon’s most-watched series, amassing over 100 million viewers. Besides its success, the show has contributed to an increase in sales and active players for all Fallout games available, by either attracting new players or encouraging longtime fans to revisit previous titles.

The second season of the Fallout TV series is expected to premiere in December 2024, a quicker release schedule compared to many other popular shows. Moreover, it has already been renewed for a third season before Season 2 even airs. While we wait, all mainline Fallout games are accessible through Xbox Game Pass. For those who haven’t seen the first season yet, it can be streamed on Prime Video or purchased on 4K Blu-Ray.

Warning: Spoilers follow for anyone who hasn’t watched the first season.

What’s coming in Fallout Season 2?

The inaugural season of the Fallout TV show concluded on a mix of joy and sadness, as electricity was restored in Shady Sands. However, this restoration had its price, as Lucy discovered her father’s part in destroying the town.

Her father (Hank) escaped wearing looted power armor, eventually reaching New Vegas – a well-known location. Meanwhile, Lucy journeyed on with The Ghoul (originally Cooper, a pre-war actor), while Maximus grew closer to the Brotherhood of Steel.

The future remains uncertain, but it’s clear that New Vegas will be significant moving forward. Additionally, more flashbacks are planned to shed light on events leading up to the nuclear explosions.
