Beloved British TV personality Les Dennis is getting back to his roots as a performer! He’s joined the touring company of the popular musical, Waitress, and will be hitting the stage later this year.
Coronation Street’s [actor’s name – not provided in original text] will share the stage with Sandra Marvin, known for her work in soap operas, West End star Carrie Hope Fletcher, and Evelyn Hoskins as the musical tours the UK and Ireland.
Okay, so Dennis is a total legend β he’s been working in entertainment for fifty years! I knew him from stage work, and of course, he was brilliant as Grandad in ‘Only Fools and Horses’ and hilarious as King Arthur in ‘Spamalot’. Now, he’s taking on a new role as Joe in a show that’s running for eight months, which is awesome. I’m definitely going to try and catch it!
Marvin, famous for playing Jessie Dingle on the TV show Emmerdale, is bringing back his role as Becky. Heβs played Becky before, both in Londonβs West End and on tour.
The soap opera star has a lot of experience on stage, having appeared in productions like Hairspray, Chicago, and Sister Act.

Waitress follows Jenna, a talented pie baker, as she hopes to escape her unhappy marriage. A baking competition nearby seems like the perfect opportunity to start over.
This show is celebrating its 10th anniversary since its Broadway debut with a UK and Ireland tour. Starting in March and running through October, it will visit almost 30 different locations.
