Ahead of the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day on July 31, 2026, Sony Pictures has announced a new theatrical release date for one of their popular Spider-Man films. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, originally released in 2018, was both a commercial success and critically acclaimed, winning the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature in 2019.
After being bitten by a radioactive spider, Brooklyn teen Miles Morales gains incredible powers and becomes Spider-Man. He discovers he’s not the only one with these abilities when he meets Peter Parker. Now, Miles has to learn to control his powers and fight the villainous Kingpin, who has the dangerous ability to open doorways to alternate universes and bring other Spider-People into their world.
When is the theatrical rerelease date for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse?
Good news for Spider-Man fans! AMC Theatres has announced that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will be back in cinemas on February 6, 2026. The critically acclaimed movie still boasts a 97% ‘Fresh’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 399 reviews, and has earned over $394 million worldwide.
Directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman and produced by Christopher Miller and Phil Lord, the 2018 animated film starred Shameik Moore as Miles Morales, alongside Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy, and Mahershala Ali as The Prowler. The voice cast also included Brian Tyree Henry, Lily Tomlin, Luna Lauren Vélez, John Mulaney, Kimiko Glenn, Nicolas Cage, and Liev Schreiber.
Production on the third Spider-Verse movie, Beyond the Spider-Verse, is continuing after the success of 2023’s Across the Spider-Verse. In December 2024, Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson were confirmed as the new directors, following some creative challenges. The film is still planned for release in theaters on June 18, 2027.
