The surprising ending to season 2 of *Gen V* may have been hinted at months ago by the show’s creator, Michele Fazekas. While the latest season of *The Boys* revealed major changes with Homelander, his influence isn’t central to *Gen V*’s story. Instead, the season focuses on Marie Moreau and her friends – Emma, Cate, Jordan, Sam, and Polarity – as they investigate Cipher, the new dean of Godolkin University, ultimately discovering that Thomas Godolkin is still alive.
Despite his immense power, the young superheroes in *Gen V* might not be enough to defeat Godolkin. However, in an interview with *Variety* back in July, showrunner Eric Fazekas hinted that a seemingly minor character with an unusual ability could be crucial to his downfall. Fans on *Reddit* have been speculating about who this could be, and many believe it might be Stacey Ferrera (also known as Stacey McGunnigle), a support staff member at God U who has powers related to bees, and who could unintentionally be the one to defeat him.
How Stacey Ferrera’s Role in Gen V’s Finale Has Been Teased Already

As a huge fan of *Gen V*, I was really intrigued by the season 2 premiere, “New Year, New U.” Stacey Ferrera is back as Student Life Stacey, and she’s tasked with welcoming Emma, Jordan, and Marie back to Godolkin after their time at Elmira. But here’s the thing – she keeps *constantly* warning everyone about her bee sting! Apparently, if she accidentally stings someone (or gets stung herself), it could be fatal. The show keeps hammering this point home, and honestly, it feels like a classic Chekhov’s gun – except instead of a gun, it’s a potentially deadly bee sting. I’m fully expecting that to come into play in a big way during the season finale!
We already know how Godolkin will die

Thomas Godolkin is an incredibly dangerous threat – possibly the only one capable of stopping him is America Ferrera’s bee sting. He can completely control people’s minds, bodies, and abilities, as demonstrated when he spent years possessing Doug Brightbill (under the alias Cipher) and used him to control Jordan. In the seventh episode of *Gen V* season 2, “Hell Week,” immediately after being healed, Godolkin took control of a Supe with the ability to turn his feet into hands and forced him to take his own life, highlighting just how powerful and ruthless he is.
Despite Godolkin’s immense power, a single accidental injury from Ferrera could be fatal. This would force Stacey to make a huge sacrifice to protect thousands from Godolkin’s plans, potentially leading to what Fazekas considers her greatest achievement and the most shocking event in the history of *Gen V* – something the cast themselves can barely believe happened. The second season of *Gen V* will conclude on October 22, 2025, wrapping up the series before the fifth season of *The Boys* begins in 2026.
