Fall Guys was incredibly popular when it launched in 2020, but its popularity has decreased significantly, leading some players to worry the game might be discontinued.
People have been concerned about the game’s future for some time because fewer players are playing it. Recently, a new update containing files related to the game’s sixth anniversary has caused even more worry among fans.
If you can do basic math, you’ll realize the sixth anniversary is planned for August of next year. Some players are worried that the recent update only adds enough new content to keep things going until then.
The game’s files contain evidence of many more cosmetic items and scheduled events, indicating that the developers, Mediatonic, are planning to largely automate updates for the game in the near future.
For years, people have predicted that Fall Guys could become part of Fortnite. This is because Epic Games, who owns both games, has already integrated elements of Fall Guys into Fortnite’s gameplay.
It’s likely the developers are focusing on a major update or a new game, and are letting Fall Guys gradually become less of a priority as they shift their work to other things.
Unless Mediatonic addresses these concerns, it seems like current Fall Guys players have good reason to be worried.
