Fantastic Four Fans Baffled Over Tons of Deleted Scenes

The abbreviated version of “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” left out numerous scenes and significant moments, a shock for many fans. Since “Avengers: Endgame,” Marvel has experienced some turbulence. Regardless of personal opinions on the projects, it’s clear that the reviews and box office returns have shown a slight decline in the quality of average Marvel films in recent times. However, forthcoming movies like “Thunderbolts” have sparked optimism that Marvel might be regaining its stride as the Marvel Cinematic Universe hurtles towards “Avengers: Doomsday” in December 2023. This positive trend appears to persist with “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” which has garnered critical acclaim.

The recent victory was particularly significant since the latest Fantastic Four movie on the big screen was poorly received. The ones before it didn’t fare much better, but some viewers have reconsidered them lately and found them passable superhero films. However, the highly anticipated entrance of the Fantastic Four into the MCU has been a long-awaited event, with far-reaching consequences for the future. Therefore, it was essential to make a strong first impression. Despite positive feedback and high expectations for the film’s box office performance, there’s been a bit of heated debate on social media.

Fantastic Four Fans Are Confused By How Many Scenes Were Cut from the Movie

As a die-hard movie enthusiast, I’ve been keeping an eye on the latest buzz surrounding “The Fantastic Four”. After catching the first screenings, it became apparent that several key scenes were missing from the final cut. The most surprising omission was the character of Red Ghost, played by John Malkovich, who was entirely removed from the movie according to director Matt Shakman’s statements to the press. This revelation came as a shock, considering Malkovich’s past association with Marvel when he was slated to play Vulture in Sam Raimi’s “Spider-Man 4”.

However, the cuts didn’t end with Malkovich’s scenes. In fact, many Marvel fans have been vocal about the film’s peculiar editing style, suggesting that the movie’s opening montage seems to incorporate deleted scenes. This is due to direct references to Malkovich’s character in the montage, which has left viewers scratching their heads.

In reviewing the initial trailer for the movie “The Fantastic Four,” it’s noticeable that several scenes shown in it are not present in the final cut of the movie or are used differently, like The Thing watching footage about his pre-powered past on TV. This is also true for other scenes that fans have identified but don’t seem to correspond with any sequences from “The Fantastic Four.” Additionally, actress Vanessa Kirby has mentioned a scene involving Mole Man that she was passionate about, but it ultimately did not make it into the film.

The highly anticipated “Sunday dinner” sequence, prominently showcased in Marvel’s promotional materials for The Fantastic Four: First Steps for quite a while, is conspicuously absent from the film. In the trailer, Reed Richards and Sue Storm are seen giving a tour, discussing their regular routine with their guest, mentioning that they always dine together every Sunday at a fixed hour. However, this scene did not appear in the final movie. Additionally, in the teaser, Reed Richards mentions he “stretched the bounds of space and they heard,” implying some level of responsibility for Galactus targeting Earth or perhaps referring to another threat altogether. Unfortunately, the exact meaning behind these words remains unclear as it’s not further explained in the movie.

Re-watching the thrilling Teaser Trailer for Fantastic Four once more, it’s striking how several scenes were omitted from the final movie. Perhaps they could have made the movie a little LONGER to include those fascinating moments left on the cutting room floor.

The movie was good, but the hat man edited this movie and it shows

These too, I guess

One of the scenes I was eagerly anticipating from the trailers didn’t make it to the final film, unfortunately.

The opening scene of Fantastic Four seems to have been heavily re-edited, with a prolonged sequence that appears to be made up of pieces from discarded parts of the film. While the subsequent acts are generally well-done, visually it falls short, especially when compared to the Avatar: Fire and Ash trailer. Ha!

I observed that a significant portion of scenes were missing from the previews of Fantastic Four’s First Steps, including some really exciting elements.

Although the series of events was astonishing, I found myself remarkably unaffected. It seems as though about a quarter of an hour could have been omitted. Furthermore, the mid-credits scene appeared almost disregardful.
