The atmospheric adventure game, FARAWAY TRAIN, is now available on Nintendo Switch through the Nintendo eShop, according to publisher AMATA Games and developer Tatamibeya.
I was so excited when FARAWAY TRAIN first came out on Steam for PC back in June 2021! Then, I was thrilled to hear it was also coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on August 27, 2025 – I can’t wait to play it on those consoles too!

FARAWAY TRAIN is an atmospheric narrative adventure game.
You find yourself on a strange, vintage train, tasked with investigating the story of Empress Roxelana. She’s believed to have caused a worldwide disaster using a powerful, ancient artifact called the Nebula Astronomical Disc. Your mission is to explore the train and find clues that reveal when and where she activated the device.
As you explore, you’ll encounter locked cabin doors blocking your path. To open them, you’ll need to find the dates that mark important moments in Roxelana’s life and use those numbers as the keys. Entering the correct dates will unlock each door and reveal more about the mysterious Empress and the magical item she left behind.
While riding the train, you’ll be captivated by the ever-changing scenery. The landscape is procedurally generated, meaning it’s constantly new and you’ll never see the same view twice, offering a truly unique and endless journey.
In Free Mode, you can explore the train at your own pace – walk around, choose any seat, enjoy the view from the window, or read an ePUB book.
