Shinichi Manabe, known for his work on the Rune Factory series (lead programmer of Rune Factory 3 and director of Rune Factory 4), is funding his new game, Farnia Life, through Kickstarter. Farnia Life is a life simulation game with action RPG elements, initially launching on PC via Steam. He’s hoping to raise five million yen (about $32,880 USD) and eventually bring the game to consoles.
The game’s development team features Takanori Tsuji, the writer for Rune Factory 3 and Rune Factory 4, along with character designers benitama, kannnu, and BOKI simole. Tomoko Morita from Studio Qareeb is contributing to the game’s soundtrack.
Manabe is developing the game single-handedly, taking care of all aspects – including programming, art, animation, sound, and game design. Because of this, the game is expected to take a while to finish. The Kickstarter estimates it will be released in September 2028.
Here is an overview of the game, via its Steam page:
