Fate of Emily in Paris Revealed After Season 5

Get ready to say bonjour to more time with Emily Cooper.

Netflix has announced that Emily in Paris will be back for a sixth season, continuing the story of Lily Collins’ character as she navigates the world of marketing in France.

On January 4th, Lily shared the news in a YouTube video filmed on a balcony in Paris. She used a selfie camera on a tripod and blew out a candle shaped like the number ‘6’ stuck in a croissant on her breakfast table.

The show will be filmed in France again! An announcement with a French flag confirmed that “Emily in Paris” is coming back for a sixth season, calling France “home sweet home.”

I was completely captivated by Emily’s adventures in Rome last season! Getting to lead L’Agence Grateau’s Italian office was such an incredible opportunity for her. It was so fun watching her explore the city with Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini is amazing!), especially after everything she went through with Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and Alfie (Lucien Laviscount).

I’m so excited for the new season! From what Netflix has shared, Emily’s really navigating a lot – trying to build a life for herself in this new city, both with her career and in her personal life. It sounds like things are finally starting to look up for her, but then a big work project goes wrong and it causes a ripple effect, leading to both heartbreak and some serious professional struggles. I’m bracing myself – it’s going to be a rollercoaster!

But the City of Love didn’t stray far from the mind, even in a brand-new country.

Emily finds comfort in her life in France, but a surprising secret puts a strain on a key friendship. By facing the issue directly and honestly, she strengthens her bonds with others, gains a clearer sense of direction, and becomes open to what the future holds.

Viewers enjoyed another glimpse into Emily’s incredibly lavish lifestyle and also met new faces, including Minnie Driver as the stunning Princess Jane.

Lily recently thought about the surprising choice to have her character leave Paris during the fifth season.

It felt completely revitalizing,” the actor explained to Deadline in 2024. “It reminded me of the very first season of the show, when Emily first arrived in Paris – it was a similar feeling for me going to Rome.

I connected with Emily’s experience a lot, and I think this season gives her a chance to relax and disconnect from work. A big part of her story this season is learning to balance her career and personal life, and that’s what this arc is all about.
