The 13th season of the cozy British crime drama “Father Brown” is now complete in terms of filming. Preview photos from the series have already been unveiled, providing a sneak peek at several notable guest actors who will appear in the upcoming episodes.

In the upcoming episode 1, Mark Williams, Tom Chambers, Claudie Blakley, Ruby-May Martinwood, and John Burton will reprise their beloved roles. Additionally, Sorcha Cusack, known for her portrayal of Mrs Bridgette McCarthy from seasons 1 to 9, is set to make a special appearance as a guest star.

Stars such as Nancy Carroll (Lady Felicia), John Light (Hercule Flambeau), Lex Shrapnel (Father Lazarus), Roger May (Canon Fox), and Kieran Hodgson (Father Lindsey) are reprising their roles from past episodes for upcoming guest appearances.

Additionally, some fresh faces joining the cast are Maureen Lipman, Julia Sawalha, Phil Daniels, Debra Stephenson, Davood Ghadami, Kevin Harvey, George Rainsford, and Timothy Watson.

In season 13, airing in 2026, we find the newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. Sullivan, enjoying their marital bliss and moving into a new home. Isabel is particularly excited as she becomes part of the Police Officers’ Wives Association.

While Brenda embarks on a personal journey towards empowerment, she assumes the duties of Parish Secretary and begins learning how to drive under Sergeant Goodfellow’s tutelage. Meanwhile, Father Brown is assigned by Flambeau to pay a visit to Father Lazarus in prison, leading to a dangerous game of chase that stirs up trouble with Canon Fox.

As Bishop-Elect Fox’s ordination approaches, he intends to retaliate against Father Brown, an action that will irrevocably alter the town of Kembleford. In a unique twist for Father Brown, the storyline shifts to a beach vacation!

In a statement, Mark Williams shared: “Growing up, my father was a surveyor who showed me not just the aesthetic aspect of buildings, but also their purpose and why they’re located where they are. This fascination with architecture carries over when we film Father Brown, and I always make sure to have the appropriate Pevsner’s ‘Buildings of England’ guidebook nearby.

This year marks our 13th, and it’s been quite remarkable as we’ve had the opportunity to film at some fascinating locations. Among them are The Chateaux Impney in Droitwich, where we captured a French fantasy, the former Salvation Army Citadel turned little theater in Chipping Norton, the stunning 18th-century octagonal Crown Courts in Warwick, and an atmospheric ex-nunnery in Great Malvern boasting a magnificent chapel by Ninian Comper.

Additionally, The Fleece Inn in Bretforton – a charming English pub that feels like a time capsule – along with the magnificent Baroque church at Great Witley, and not forgetting the beautiful Cotswold stone houses and churches. What an incredible itinerary! And we even managed to film an episode by the sea! As my father would have said, what great luck!
