Last week saw the release of Firebreak by Remedy Entertainment, but it didn’t quite spark excitement among critics and gamers alike, with only around 2,000 simultaneous players on Steam at its peak. Yet, according to the developers themselves, the game has already been played by over a million people as of last night.
It’s important to mention that the cooperative shooter can be played through Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and PlayStation Plus Extra/Deluxe as well. This game takes place after Control, focusing on a team called Firebreak who deal with Anomalies within The Oldest House. From a fiery hearth to intelligent sticky notes, it’s quite the diverse environment! We had fun with the action, but the objectives started feeling repetitive, and the advancement wasn’t always seamless.
Apart from playing on traditional platforms, you can also enjoy this co-op shooter with Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, or PlayStation Plus Extra/Deluxe. It’s a sequel to Control, set in The Oldest House where our team Firebreak confronts various Anomalies – from burning fires to talking post-it notes! While we found the action engaging, the tasks became repetitive, and the progression wasn’t always easy to follow.
Earlier this week, Remedy rolled out an update aimed at improving certain aspects. This includes separating Requisitions and Cosmetics, readjusting the prices for unlocks, and making it possible to take on Clearance Level 3 Jobs straight away. For more comprehensive information, click here.
The game titled “Firebreak” is now playable on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and personal computers. This year, it’s slated to get two significant updates, which will introduce fresh Job opportunities, locations, gear, and additional perks known as Requisitions.
