It’s a new month on the PS Store, which means time for a new sale.

As a gamer, I’m seriously excited about the Player’s Choice promotion! It’s huge – they’re offering almost 5,000 different games, and it’s all happening right now until October 22nd.

Okay, so there’s a ton of stuff they’re trying to sell you that you really don’t need. I’m just going to cut through all that and show you the *really* good deals – the ones you should actually be paying attention to.

As a gamer, I only want the best deals, and this collection has got them! Every game here has a Push Square score of 7 out of 10 or better, and they’re all currently on sale for the lowest prices I’ve seen – some are even cheaper than they’ve *ever* been. It’s a great time to grab some awesome games without breaking the bank.

If you need to top up your PSN wallet, we’ve got you covered:

Without further ado, here are our recommendations in the Player’s Choice sale.

A Plague Tale: Requiem (PS5)

$23.99/£19.99 (-60%)

A Plague Tale: Requiem is a significant improvement over the first game, offering refined gameplay, breathtaking graphics on the PS5, and a captivating story. While it builds on what made the original good, it delivers a truly cinematic experience, much like games from Naughty Dog, and is definitely worth playing.

Balatro (PS5)

$13.49/£11.69

Balatro is a brilliantly unique game that combines poker with the exciting unpredictability of roguelikes. You aim to score points with poker hands, but the core of the game is building and customizing your deck of cards. By adding modifiers, upgrades, and special Jokers, you can create powerful combinations and watch your scores skyrocket. With plenty to unlock, different difficulty settings, and challenges to overcome, it’s easy to see why Balatro has become a hit in 2024 – it’s a truly fantastic and original experience.

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden (PS5)

$29.99/£24.99 (-50%)

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden tells a great story and is genuinely fun to play. While the enemies could be more diverse and the game has some technical issues, the compelling side quests make even the less exciting fights worthwhile. This is the studio’s best game yet, and we hope to see more games set in this world in the future.

Blue Prince (PS5)

$23.99/£19.99 (-20%)

Blue Prince offers a fresh take on puzzle adventures, blending challenging first-person puzzles with the replayability of roguelike games. This mysterious mansion is full of secrets and puzzles, ensuring each playthrough reveals something new. It’s a game that rewards dedicated players with a deep and satisfying experience as they uncover all its hidden layers.

Dead Space (PS5)

$13.99/£13.99 (-80%)

Dead Space, one of EA’s most popular games, has been completely rebuilt for the PS5. This remake of the original takes players back into the terrifying world of Isaac Clarke as he navigates the ruined spaceship, the USG Ishimura. It’s much more than just an updated look; the entire ship is now one seamless environment with expanded areas, and Isaac now has a voice. But at its core, it’s still the classic Dead Space experience you love – filled with a gripping story, terrifying creatures, and unique weapons, all wrapped in an incredibly intense atmosphere.

Death Stranding Director’s Cut (PS5)

$29.99/£24.99 (-50%)

Death Stranding Director’s Cut brings the innovative “strand game” experience to PS5 with some significant improvements. The original game, created by Hideo Kojima, presented a captivatingly eerie world where players navigate a harsh landscape to deliver packages. Despite its unusual premise, the game is surprisingly engaging – every careful step you take feels important, creating tension, especially when facing dangerous creatures. The Director’s Cut takes things further with better graphics, smoother performance, immersive 3D audio, and new content to enjoy.

Deathloop (PS5)

$11.99/£11.99 (-80%)

Arkane Studios, the creators of immersive games like Dishonored, are pushing boundaries with Deathloop. You play as an assassin stuck in a time loop on an island populated by quirky characters. The goal? Eliminate everyone within a single day, or relive the day again and again. The fun comes from discovering the perfect order of events to break the loop. Deathloop blends fast-paced action with incredible powers, feeling like an enhanced version of Dishonored. The time loop itself and the possibility of other players invading your game add to the excitement, all wrapped up in a stylish 1960s setting.

Dying Light 2 (PS5)

$19.79/£18.15 (-67%)

Okay, so the first Dying Light didn’t get a ton of critical love, but it sold like crazy on PS4. That meant there was a lot of hype for this sequel on PS5, especially since the developers at Techland were talking about big story choices and a really interesting narrative. Honestly, it didn’t quite deliver on those promises, but it’s still a blast! If you just want to switch off and spend some time chopping up zombies, Dying Light 2 is a fantastic choice. Seriously, the parkour is incredible – moving around the world feels amazing. It’s just pure, fun action.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade (PS5)

$15.19/£15.19 (-62%)

As a huge Final Fantasy fan, I have to say that Final Fantasy VII Remake is easily one of the best entries in years, and the Intergrade version just makes it even better! Okay, it’s true, it only covers part of the original story, and some of the changes they made are definitely going to rub some longtime fans the wrong way. But honestly, the game is overflowing with that classic Final Fantasy VII charm. Seeing the characters brought to life in a new way, and battling those incredible bosses with such a great combat system… it’s a really satisfying experience, especially if you grew up with the original like I did!

Grand Theft Auto V (PS5)

$19.99/£19.99 (-50%)

GTA 5 remains incredibly popular, and this third generation release is its best-looking yet, now available in 4K resolution with smooth 60 frames per second. While the game shows some signs of age, its expansive open world is still hard to beat. Despite a somewhat difficult learning curve for new players, GTA Online continues to grow and offers a unique and unmatched multiplayer experience.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (PS5)

$11.99/£9.99 (-80%)

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is the ultimate LEGO Star Wars experience, building on everything TT Games has done before. It covers all nine main Star Wars films in a massive, action-packed adventure, recreating all your favorite scenes. Beyond the story, you can freely explore iconic locations and play as a huge roster of over a hundred characters. The gameplay feels fresh and updated too, with improved shooting and more engaging combat. It’s packed with content, meaning Star Wars fans won’t need another game for quite some time.

Live A Live (PS5)

$19.99/£15.99 (-60%)

Live A Live is a truly special JRPG. Its beautiful HD-2D style and diverse cast of characters might remind you of Octopath Traveler, but it offers a distinctly different experience. Even years after its initial release, Live A Live remains an exciting and engaging game. While the battle system isn’t perfect, the game excels at weaving together its many compelling and unique stories into a cohesive whole. It’s a memorable adventure that jumps across different time periods and will stay with you long after you finish playing.

Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered (PS5)

$24.99/£28.99 (-42%)

Insomniac Games put a lot of work into bringing Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered to the PS5, completely rebuilding New York City to showcase the new hardware while keeping the exciting gameplay of the PS4 version intact. While some fans weren’t happy with the updated look of Peter Parker, the addition of features like ray tracing and a smooth 60 frames per second make this the best way to play Sony’s fantastic Spider-Man game. It also includes all the extra content from the original release, offering even more to enjoy!
