Feature: 40+ PS5 Games to Play in 2026

With the PlayStation 5 now well established, 2026 is shaping up to be an incredible year for gaming, with a huge number of highly anticipated titles expected.

Now that the year is underway, we’ve gathered a list of more than 40 exciting titles we believe you won’t want to miss. All of these are scheduled to be released within the next year.

We expect some projects might be pushed back – that’s typical – but here are the releases we recommend you watch closely.

Code Violet (PS5)

  • 10th January

Code Violet exists largely because fans have been eagerly awaiting a new Dino Crisis game for years, and TeamKill Media is now stepping up to meet that demand. While the developers’ previous games, like Quantum Error, haven’t been huge hits, this delayed third-person shooter will definitely be one to watch when it releases early next year.

2XKO (PS5)

  • 20th January

A free-to-play fighting game based on League of Legends always seemed like a great idea. However, 2XKO faced some criticism before its release due to a limited number of playable characters and a lengthy development process. Thankfully, the game is likely to gain the most traction on consoles, and its January launch on PlayStation 5 offers a chance to improve how people view it.

Arknights: Endfield (PS5)

  • 22nd January

Okay, so there are tons of gacha games out there, but Arknights: Endfield actually feels different. It reminds me a bit of Genshin Impact, especially like Wuthering Waves did last year, but it’s got this really cool automation system. Honestly? It feels like Satisfactory, but instead of building factories with robots, you’re commanding a team of awesome characters – think waifus! That’s the best way I can describe it, it’s all about building and automating with a really unique team.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin (PS5)

  • 28th January

Yes, it’s another gacha game, but The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin really stands out with its high-quality production. Based on the popular manga by Nakaba Suzuki, the game benefits from a rich, existing story and characters. This means fans are especially excited about the narrative, which often isn’t as strong in other games like this.

Code Vein 2 (PS5)

  • 30th January

The first Code Vein game was popular, offering a unique anime style combined with the challenging gameplay known from games like Dark Souls. Now, Bandai Namco is releasing Code Vein 2, which promises a stronger story and more complex combat, aiming to build on the success of the original and grow the series.

Aces of Thunder (PS5)

  • 3rd February

Virtual reality is a perfect fit for flight games, and even though a World War 2 dogfighting simulator might seem like it could cause motion sickness, Ace Combat 7 showed us it can actually work well. Aces of Thunder further demonstrates that the PSVR2 still has a lot to offer, especially after a successful 2025. So, hold onto your VR headset – it’s still worth using!

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined (PS5)

  • 5th February

So, Square Enix is giving the classic Dragon Quest games a fresh coat of paint, and next up is Dragon Quest 7! They’re rebuilding it from the ground up with amazing visuals based on real-life models. What’s really cool is they’ve streamlined the story a bit, and added a “moonlighting” system. Basically, you can switch to a second job class mid-game, which opens up a ton of new ways to build your character. I’m super excited to try out all the different combinations!

Nioh 3 (PS5)

  • 6th February

The popular action RPG series from Koei Tecmo continues with Nioh 3, now featuring a new ninja stance alongside the traditional samurai style. This new stance emphasizes speed and dodging, offering a fresh approach to the series’ typically deliberate combat. The game also boasts a more open design, giving players greater freedom to explore and make their own choices.

Romeo Is a Dead Man (PS5)

  • 11th February

The renowned game creator Suda51 is pushing boundaries again with his newest, delightfully strange adventure, Romeo Is a Dead Man. This game features a story that bends reality, a constantly changing structure full of surprises, and action that combines close-quarters fighting with shooting. It’s sure to be an unforgettable experience.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties (PS5)

  • 12th February

It’s amazing how many Yakuza games there are now, considering Sony used to have to help bring the series to other countries. For a lot of fans, the first Yakuza game on PlayStation 3, Yakuza 3, holds a special place in their hearts – you always remember your first experience! This remake builds on that original with more involved minigames focused on running an orphanage, a new storyline about a biker gang, and a completely new campaign that delves deeper into the backstory of the villain, Mine.
