Title game: Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail
Initially,
Of course, there has been a lot of buzz and speculation surrounding the boss that may appear in the trial at the end of Patch 7.3.

In the latest chapter, we find ourselves confronting Calyx, an Endless being, as our primary adversary. He’s on a mission to gather aether from different realms, which serves as fuel for the Endless. Unlike typical villains, Calyx prefers to avoid direct conflict and instead manipulates others to fight against various enemies. This allows him to collect data about their powers, which he can use strategically to eliminate them. Notably, our Warrior of Light poses a significant threat to Calyx’s plans due to their immense power and the key they hold that Calyx desires.
I Believe Necron Will Be the 7.3 Trial Boss

Prior to Square Enix’s official reveal for Patch 7.3 on Final Fantasy XIV, fans have been engaged in discussions about which Final Fantasy 9 boss could potentially appear as the next main story trial boss. Similarly, I share this belief that Necron, the final boss from Final Fantasy 9, will be the boss for the upcoming Patch 7.3 trial. This is because the narrative of this patch seems to be concluding the current story arc, and it would make sense to introduce the last boss from the game that’s being referenced in the ongoing content.
In Final Fantasy XIV, my character might go by a different name compared to Necron from another universe, as it’s typical for names to be altered instead of directly referencing established characters. However, the essence and philosophy remain the same – a relentless pursuit of death, which aligns perfectly with Calyx’s objective of maintaining a timeless, designed sanctuary for the Endless, all of whom are deceased.
Although I’ve been let down by some aspects of Dawntrail, the exciting content being developed for dungeons, raids, and trials in Final Fantasy 14 has given me reason to be optimistic about patch 7.3. In particular, the talented team behind the game’s music, led by Soken, has made the game even more enjoyable. Given my fondness for Necron as a boss fight in Final Fantasy 9, I can only hope that the new trial is inspired by this iconic battle.
