While passionate fans of Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 often debate online, those who truly understand the development process recognize the deep respect between the teams at Square Enix and Sandfall Interactive.
It’s not surprising that fans are creating artwork combining these two popular series. The games recently teamed up for a special event in Paris.
To celebrate, the art directors for each franchise created artwork of characters from the other franchise.
Gustave and Maelle were illustrated by the famous artist Tetsuya Nomura, while Cloud Strife and Aerith Gainsborough were drawn by Nicholas Maxson-Francombe. The team at Sandfall Interactive must have been thrilled to see Nomura’s interpretation of their characters.
It’s unclear if this partnership will lead to more than just art, but we might see the two studios create content that combines their worlds down the line.
Honestly, as a huge RPG fan, it’s just awesome to see the RPG scene doing so well. And it’s really exciting to see two of the biggest companies in the industry teaming up – that’s great news for everyone who loves these kinds of games!
