The PC release of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth from Square Enix had a rocky start, with many players experiencing performance problems. While updates have gradually improved the game, a new update is now available that promises a significant boost – but it will only fully work with certain graphics cards.
Nvidia DLSS 4, featuring Multi Frame Generation, is now available, giving PC gamers a boost in performance. To use it, you’ll need an RTX 40 or 50 Series graphics card.
This update focuses on improving the game’s stability and fixing bugs. However, it doesn’t address concerns about the length or difficulty of mini-games or certain sections. While the director, Naoki Hamaguchi, doesn’t share those concerns, he assures players that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 will be structured in a more streamlined way. This doesn’t mean the game will be shorter overall, just better paced.
With development of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth for PC ongoing, Hamaguchi shared that all the performance improvements made so far will also benefit the Nintendo Switch 2 version. This means players on the new Switch console likely won’t have to worry about the game running poorly when it’s released, though the release date is still unknown.
