When *Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth* launched as a PlayStation 5 exclusive, some people worried about its sales. However, releasing the game on PC seems to have improved sales numbers. In a recent interview with Automaton Media, director Naoki Hamaguchi said the game is now selling well on both PC and PS5.
Hamaguchi also reassured fans that the third game in the *Final Fantasy 7 Remake* series is still being made, and the team is committed to delivering a high-quality experience.
Hamaguchi noted that *FFVII Rebirth* is performing strongly on PlayStation 5 and PC. He reassured fans who have voiced worries that they are committed to delivering a third game that meets a high standard of quality.
He added that development is moving forward well, and a significant portion of the third part is now playable. According to Hamaguchi, the game’s overall vision and direction are now established, and the team is focused on polishing and refining the experience.
Development is progressing smoothly, and the game is really coming together,” he said. “Much of the game is already playable, and we have a clear vision for what it will be. The team is now focused on polishing and improving everything.”
The final installment of the *Final Fantasy 7 Remake* trilogy will probably be available on multiple platforms as soon as it’s released. Square Enix recently announced on social media that all three games in the series will be made for all current gaming consoles.
So, unlike the first *Final Fantasy 7 Remake* which came out on PS4 and then got upgraded to *Intergrade* and eventually hit PC, *Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth* followed a similar path. It started as a PlayStation 5 exclusive, but thankfully, it’s now available on PC too!
The critically acclaimed *Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade* is coming to Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2 on January 22, 2026. This new version will also include special accessibility options, letting players customize their experience. These options include features like automatically having maximum health, magic points, damage output, and in-game currency, as well as an easier way to unlock abilities for all weapons – simply using an ability once will unlock it across your entire arsenal.
A new trailer was released earlier this month for the upcoming game, introducing players to the story’s factions and the city of Midgar. This is especially helpful for those new to the original 1997 game or its popular remake.
