After a long wait, *Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade* is finally available on Xbox Series X/S, and with the Nintendo Switch 2 launching on January 22nd, 2026, Square Enix has released a new trailer showing off the game’s impressive opening sequence across all platforms. It’s great to see Cloud Strife’s initial appearance adapted so effectively, even if this isn’t the comparison fans were anticipating.
Players worried about how the popular action RPG will run on the new Switch 2 can rest easy – it’s confirmed to run at a stable 30 frames per second, though it does need a large 90 GB of storage space to install. Square Enix also announced a new feature for both Switch and other versions called Streamlined Progression. This lets players automatically have full health, magic points, and always-filled special attack gauges, making the game easier and more enjoyable.
Players will be able to fully immerse themselves in the story, and the game will eventually be available on PS5 and PC—look out for future announcements! *Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth* is also planned for Xbox Series X/S and the new Switch 2, though we don’t have a release date yet. The third and final game in the series will be released on all platforms when it’s ready.
