Square Enix has revealed the title for the last game in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series.
Square Enix announced they’ve officially chosen a name for their new game. Earlier reports indicated they were deciding between two options as of November 2025, with a final decision expected after Paris Games Week. Game director Naoki Hamaguchi confirmed the choice to GameSpot.
Hamaguchi stated that Mr. Nomura made the final decision, and after the Paris Games Week event, he confirmed the game’s title was finalized.
Fans predicted the third game in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series would be called “Reunion,” following the titles “Remake” and “Rebirth.” However, Square Enix recently released a different game called Life is Strange: Reunion, which now makes that title less likely for the Final Fantasy sequel. While it’s still possible Square Enix could use the name, they might prefer to avoid having two games with the same title.
Hamaguchi shared these details during a recent interview with the media. He announced that the card game Queen’s Blood will be updated and return in the third game, and a snowboarding minigame will also be included.
Square Enix hasn’t announced a release date for the final part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy, but producer Hamaguchi says development is going well. They have confirmed it won’t be exclusive to PlayStation and will be available on multiple platforms when it’s finished.
