Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3, Kingdom Hearts 4 Development is on Schedule – Tetsuya Nomura

Despite maintaining secrecy about the progress of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 and Kingdom Hearts 4, Tetsuya Nomura, during a livestream focusing on Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis, confirmed that development for both games is progressing well. Notably, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3, with Nomura as the creative director, has an announced date for its reveal.

According to posts shared on social media by Genki_JPN, Square Enix’s producer, Nomura, shared updates about both the “Final Fantasy 7 Remake” and “Kingdom Hearts 4.” Regarding the third installment of the “Final Fantasy 7 Remake,” he mentioned that things are moving along smoothly, with a release timeline already decided. He encouraged fans to remain patient as they will stick to this schedule. On the other hand, Nomura stated that “Kingdom Hearts 4” is also progressing well and on track according to its planned schedule. These announcements were made since there was an expectation for Square Enix to reveal news about the upcoming “Final Fantasy 7 Remake” part 3 by now.

It was way back in 2022 when Kingdom Hearts 4 was first unveiled to the public. Since then, there haven’t been many updates on it, just occasional remarks from director Nomura. However, in January, while celebrating the 15th anniversary of Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, Nomura shared some insights about the game’s themes and hinted that these might echo in the narrative of Kingdom Hearts 4. A recurring motif connecting all games in the series is the concept of a fork in the road.

As a dedicated fan, I recall that the first instance where a crossroads emerges in the Kingdom Hearts saga is found within Chain of Memories. This captivating tale centers around the concept of sacrificing something to ultimately acquire something greater. Interestingly, every subsequent appearance of crossroads in the series retains this profound significance.

Moreover, Nomura further elaborates on the Faustian pact that unfolds in Kingdom Hearts 3 between the Lost Masters, as they gather at yet another crossroads. However, I can’t help but wonder: when the Lost Masters convene at this crossroads in KH3, what exactly is gained and what is lost? That, dear reader, is a tale for another time!

Speaking about a video Square Enix published for the anniversary of Birth by Sleep, Nomura discussed how it showcased key characters from the Kingdom Hearts series at a junction. “In this video, three individuals with Keyblades stand ready in armor at a crossroads,” he said. “Encountering someone at a crossroads is a common theme in Kingdom Hearts. At the start of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories (CoM), Sora meets a person in black attire and is summoned to Castle Oblivion.

Last year, voice actor Zach Pokres was disclosing in May that he had been collaborating with Square Enix on a role-playing game (RPG). Notably, one of the projects mentioned by Pokres is the rumored Kingdom Hearts 4, for which he obtained special authorization from Square Enix to discuss.

Pokres recently announced, ‘These are all the projects completed within the past YEAR, one of which is Kingdom Hearts 4.’ These top-tier projects have been dominating the industry. I find myself working with some of the most coveted teams in studios, without an agent, and continuing to strive for more.

Hey there, fellow gamers! I’ve got some hot news about the Final Fantasy 7 Remake – it seems like they’ve been diving into voice acting for the third installment of this epic series as early as April! Can’t wait to hear those characters come alive!
