Players really enjoyed the Queen’s Blood card game within Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and it’s coming back in Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3. Director Naoki Hamaguchi recently told Polygon that the team recognized the game’s popularity and plans to expand it into a more developed version for the next installment.
According to Hamaguchi, many players enjoyed the Queen’s Blood minigame, and there’s still a strong desire for something similar. The team plans to build on Queen’s Blood for the third installment, offering an improved and expanded experience while still making the original version available.
In addition to the ‘Queen’s Blood’ game mode, Hamaguchi also mentioned that ‘Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3’ will feature several new mini-games. One of these is a revamped snowboarding game from the original ‘Final Fantasy 7’. He explained that this won’t be a standalone activity, but will actually be woven into the game’s main storyline.
Hamaguchi excitedly shared that snowboarding will be featured in the game, saying fans have strong feelings about it. While he couldn’t reveal specifics, he confirmed it won’t be a basic minigame. The team wants to integrate snowboarding into the game’s story and overall theme, making it a meaningful experience.
Hamaguchi shared that development of the third and final game in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series is progressing smoothly, and the team is on schedule to reach an important internal goal. He also mentioned that a playable version of the game exists, though significant refinement and polishing are still needed.
We’re making good progress on the third part of the game. We’re on schedule to meet our goals, and I’m incredibly grateful for the hard work of the development team. While the game is technically playable now, we’re still working to refine it and ensure it’s polished enough for players.
