Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3’s Development Team Includes 95 Percent of Rebirth’s Team

Naoki Hamaguchi, the director of the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Remake game, recently shared some new information while speaking with Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier. Square Enix is still developing the third and final game in the Remake series, and Hamaguchi confirmed that players can look forward to visiting locations like Rocket Town and Wutai when it’s released.

Hamaguchi, when discussing potential locations in the game, mentioned Wutai as a key area and highlighted Yuffie’s strong connection to it. He believes fans would be upset if Wutai wasn’t included. He also confirmed that they’re planning to improve the Highwind’s flying abilities.

The developer explained they’re aiming to build upon what players enjoy in the game. Flying the Highwind airship will be a significant feature in the third installment, but they didn’t share any further specifics. Hamaguchi remained tight-lipped about many details, including whether the Chocobo breeding feature will return in Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3. However, he did mention that Chocobo mounts will work differently than they did in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

When talking about the new features in Remake Part 3, Hamaguchi said they didn’t want each of the three games to simply be a repeat of the same experience. Their goal is for each installment to feel fresh and offer more content and a larger scope than the last.

The original Final Fantasy 7 featured a large area called the Great Glacier. According to Hamaguchi, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the third game in the Remake series, leaves players in the Forgotten City. If the Remake games continue to follow the structure of the original, the final installment, Remake Part 3, could then take players directly to the Icicle Inn.

According to Hamaguchi, we should hear about Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 sometime this year, and he hopes the reveal won’t be too far off. He also shared that almost all of the team who worked on Rebirth – around 95% – have already started working on the third game.

In January, the producer of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3, Hamaguchi, announced that the popular minigame Queen’s Blood will be included. He described the updated card game as an enhanced and improved experience.

Many players really enjoyed the Queen’s Blood minigame, and we know there’s still a lot of interest in it,” said Hamaguchi. “We’re planning to build on what made Queen’s Blood fun and deliver an even better experience in the third game. You’ll still be able to play Queen’s Blood, but with more features and improvements.”

Good news for Nintendo Switch 2 owners: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is confirmed to be coming to the console! The developers are aiming for a smooth gaming experience with a frame rate of 30 FPS, and the game is scheduled to launch on June 3rd.
