Square Enix is expanding the availability of the *Final Fantasy 7 Remake* trilogy. Following their 2024 plan to release more games on multiple platforms, they’ve announced that all three *Final Fantasy 7 Remake* games will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. The first game, *Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade*, will launch on Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2 on January 22, 2026.
Square Enix announced on the official *Final Fantasy 7* social media pages that *Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth* and the third game in the trilogy (which doesn’t have a title yet) will be available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2 at the same time as the PlayStation 5 version.
The *Final Fantasy 7 Remake* series has always launched first on PlayStation – the original game on PS4 and *Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth* on PS5. After a short period, Square Enix also releases the games on PC. Eventually, all three parts of this epic RPG trilogy will be available on both Steam and the Epic Games Store.
In May 2024, Square Enix revealed it would begin releasing games on multiple platforms. The company explained that sales of *Final Fantasy 16* and *Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth* hadn’t reached expectations, likely due to being exclusive to PlayStation 5. As a result, Square Enix plans to launch future titles on a wider range of consoles and PCs.
The company announced it’s moving towards supporting multiple platforms. Specifically for high-definition games, they aim to create a wider reach for their popular franchises and top-quality games, including older titles, so more players can enjoy them.
In its recent financial report, the company also unveiled a new strategy designed to ensure its future success. This plan centers around four key areas: improving digital entertainment development, enhancing customer interactions, building a stronger base for the business, and carefully balancing profits for investors with continued investment in growth.
Regarding the third game in the *Final Fantasy 7 Remake* series, creative director Tetsuya Nomura recently shared that development is progressing well and an announcement date has been set. He assured fans that everything is on schedule, stating, “Development is going very smoothly. The announcement timing has been decided and we will stick to that schedule, so please rest assured and wait.”
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is launching on Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, and PlayStation 5 on January 22, 2026. Plus, the entire Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy will be available on Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, PlayStation 5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store!
