An update as of September 29th, 2025, at 11:30am: Will the improved gameplay features planned for the Switch 2 and Xbox versions of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade also be released for PlayStation 5 and PC?
Square Enix has confirmed that options often referred to as cheats – like infinite health – will be added to the PS5 and PC versions of the game through an upcoming update. They responded to our inquiry with this information.
Square Enix hasn’t said when the update will be released. Since the updated version of the game is coming to Switch 2 and Xbox in January 2026, we expect the update to be available around then as well.
More specifically, the publisher told us:
Now that we know how to bring the improved lighting from the PC version to PlayStation 5, we’ll release an update with these features as soon as we’re ready.
It appears a larger PlayStation 5 update is in the works, and these new progression features will be included when it’s released.
Square Enix describes these new features as ways to make the game easier to advance, but many players would simply call them cheats – just like we did in the past.
As a huge Final Fantasy fan, I’m so excited to hear that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade is finally coming to the new Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S in January! It’s awesome that more people will get to experience this incredible game.
These new features include toggles for:
- Infinite HP and MP
- Deal 9,999 damage on all of your attacks
- Infinite items
These simplified options will make the game’s combat much too easy. They’ve already sparked debate among players, with many believing they remove too much of the challenge from an important part of the game.
Ultimately, we won’t dictate how players choose to experience the games they purchase. If you’re primarily interested in the story and visual presentation of Remake Intergrade, these features could enhance your enjoyment.
However, it’s worth noting that these features haven’t been announced for the PS5 version of the game. This might mean PlayStation players will get a version that isn’t quite as advanced as the one on other platforms, despite the game’s high ratings.
We’ve contacted Square Enix to get more information about this, and we’ll share any updates we receive in this article.
Are these features something you’d be interested in trying? Do you think they might come to the PS5 version in the future? Share your thoughts in the comments!
