We anticipated some content might be removed from Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, but we were surprised to see Bone Village cut. In the original game, it was a fun area where players could find helpful and rare items, and enjoy some entertaining side games.
However, the remake will handle things differently. Naoki Hamaguchi recently confirmed to RPG Site that Bone Village won’t be accessible this time around, though some nearby areas will still be explorable. He stated players will be able to revisit North Wood and the Temple of Ancients, but Rocket Town—which was also absent from Rebirth—won’t be included either.
Okay, so maybe the news isn’t exactly what everyone wanted, but honestly, there’s still so much to be excited about! The world is really open for exploration, with tons of side stuff to do, and you even get to make choices that impact how the story goes – though they won’t change the final ending. I’m especially thrilled they’re letting us unlock the Highwind early; being able to fly around and go anywhere right from the start is going to be amazing!
While some players may be sad to see Bone Village go, there will be plenty of exciting new content when Final Fantasy 7 Revelation arrives in Spring 2027 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
