Fire Emblem Fans Excited for New Nintendo Switch 2 Game

Currently, there aren’t many confirmed games for the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026. We expect to see more announcements from Nintendo soon, but for now, fans don’t have a lot to look forward to. However, one game is shaping up to be a major release and will only be available on the new console.

A recent post on the Nintendo Switch 2 Reddit page discussed potential game releases for 2026, and the general feeling among fans is that the upcoming selection isn’t very exciting. Many are calling the lineup “weak,” though the new Fire Emblem game is being highlighted as a promising title.

Two New Fire Emblem Games

Nintendo released a mobile game, Fire Emblem Shadows, late last year, but it didn’t fully satisfy fans craving a deep tactical experience. Fortunately, a new, full-fledged Fire Emblem game, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, is in development. As the next installment after Fire Emblem Engage and Fire Emblem Three Houses, Fortune’s Weave is currently slated for release in 2026. This timeframe has led some fans to speculate that it could be a major launch title for the anticipated Switch 2 console, potentially releasing in the first half of the year.

Although some Nintendo fans are hoping for a release within the next few months, the lack of information suggests it’s unlikely. So far, there’s only been one trailer and no official details about the game. Still, excitement is clearly high among fans, as shown by a popular discussion on Reddit.

Since Nintendo ended their big presentation last September by revealing Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, it’s likely to be a major game for 2026 – possibly one of the two biggest releases. Nintendo might have another surprise planned for the end of the year, but if you’re not interested in Fire Emblem, 2026 might not offer much for you on the new Nintendo Switch 2.
