Nintendo recently reassured fans about Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave. After announcing the new game last year, they hadn’t shared any updates, causing some worry that the release date might be delayed beyond this year. However, a new report from Nintendo confirms the game is still on track.
Okay, so Nintendo just dropped some info in their latest financial report, and it looks like Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave is still confirmed for the Switch 2 in 2026! They didn’t give us a specific month or anything, but it’s good news – it doesn’t sound like the game is getting delayed to 2027. Honestly, it seems like Fortune’s Weave is coming out later in the year than some of the other big Switch exclusives. Games like Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, Pokemon Pokopia, and the new Tomodachi Life are probably going to hit shelves before then – I’m guessing we’ll be waiting until at least summer or fall for Fire Emblem.
When Could We See Fortune’s Weave Again?
Good news! Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave is still on track to launch this year. However, don’t expect to see much more about the game right away. Nintendo’s first big presentation of 2026 is happening on February 5th, but it will focus on games from other companies and independent developers – so we won’t see any new details about Nintendo-made games like Fortune’s Weave during this presentation.
Based on Nintendo’s past behavior, a major Nintendo Direct showcasing their own games probably won’t happen until May or June. While April is a possibility, Nintendo rarely holds presentations that month. This means fans hoping for a new trailer or update on Fortune’s Weave will likely have to wait a bit longer, as it seems Nintendo isn’t ready to share more information just yet.
