Fans can look forward to the return of Fire Force on January 9, 2026. Since its debut in 2019, the anime has done a great job adapting Atsushi Ohkubo’s manga. However, a recent rumor about the number of episodes planned for the second part of Season 3 is causing worry. Many fear there won’t be enough time to finish the story properly, despite the show being one of the most anticipated anime of 2026 and the first part of Season 3 already building excitement earlier this year.
A recent post on X (formerly Twitter) suggests that Fire Force Season 3, Part 2 will have 13 episodes. Although that’s one more episode than the previous part, many fans are concerned that it won’t be enough to cover the remaining 88 chapters of the manga. This episode count hasn’t been officially confirmed, but if it’s accurate, it’s likely to leave viewers feeling unsatisfied with the ending.
The second part of Season 3 of the anime series “Fire Force” will have 13 episodes. For reference, the first part of Season 3 had 12 episodes. Directed by Tatsuma Minamikawa and produced by Studio David Production, this final part of the series will premiere on January 9, 2026.

Even though the trailer for the final episodes of Fire Force looks good, the short length of this last section suggests the ending might feel rushed. The anime still has major plot points to cover, and squeezing them into just 13 episodes won’t do them justice. For this final part to work, it can’t actually be the complete end of the Fire Force anime; a third season will likely be needed to properly conclude the story.
There’s One Way Fire Force Season 3’s 13-Episode Second Cour Could Work

There’s a potential solution for how Fire Force Season 3 could work with its short 13-episode second part, and it follows a current trend in anime. Many shows are now finishing their stories with movies, and Fire Force could do the same, similar to how Demon Slayer ended its run. This would relieve the pressure to cram everything into these next episodes and allow for a more impactful and exciting conclusion to the final story arc. Honestly, it feels like the best way to handle such a brief cour – unless they follow the example of Attack on Titan and just keep announcing more parts for the final season.
