With the holidays approaching, Marvel fans are hoping to receive a special treat: the first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday. December will also bring the release of James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash, the third Avatar movie. Because Avatar is one of Disney’s most successful franchises, attaching the Avengers: Doomsday trailer to Avatar 3—especially in IMAX or 3D—would be a perfect way to generate excitement.
Avatar: Fire and Ash is scheduled to be released on December 19th, but there’s talk that Marvel Studios might release the trailer for Doomsday online before Avatar 3 comes out. According to one source who shares movie news online, the Avengers: Doomsday trailer could debut on Sunday, December 7th, at 7 PM Eastern Time.
Has Marvel Been Teasing Avengers: Doomsday‘s Trailer Debut?

Some fans believe the rumored release date for the Avengers: Doomsday trailer isn’t just a guess. They think it’s based on a pattern they’ve noticed developing over the past few weeks.
Marketing for the upcoming film, Fantastic Four: First Steps, has included ads on TV and online, particularly during Sunday evenings at 7pm EST. The ads consistently feature Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal) and Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby) giving a tour of the Baxter Building as part of a TV documentary. They explain to the interviewer that the Fantastic Four always have Sunday dinner together as a family, right at 7pm.

Okay, so there’s this account that posts the same clip from Fantastic Four: First Steps every Sunday. When the movie first came out on July 25th, a lot of us figured it was just Marvel’s way of keeping it in the conversation while it was in theaters, and then to get people excited about the digital and Disney+ release. But Fantastic Four has been on Disney+ since November 5th! There hasn’t been anything to promote since then, so I’m honestly really curious why they’re still posting that clip every week. It’s just… weird now, you know?
Many believe Disney has been subtly building hype for a new Marvel movie through the Fantastic Four: First Steps social media account. The idea is that the weekly dinners the Fantastic Four always share will soon be disrupted – possibly for good – by Doctor Doom and events from across the multiverse. A clever way to reveal this and promote the film would be to start with the familiar, comforting footage fans are used to seeing on First Steps, then unexpectedly switch to the first look at Avengers: Doomsday.
If the first glimpse of the Fantastic Four shows a cheerful family, the follow-up for the Avengers: Doomsday event would likely be much darker. We envision the heroes – including the Fantastic Four – defeated and in serious trouble, while Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom celebrates his victory and announces his plan to rebuild the multiverse. That’s all it would take to get fans incredibly excited about what’s coming next.
