He first hinted at it back in August at a concert, but hadn’t shared much since. Now, thanks to a fan asking, we finally have a few confirmed details about what’s in store for the next Stardew Valley update, and I can’t wait!

Stardew Valley 1.7 Will Add A New Farm Type and “Lots More”

On December 17th, a fan of Stardew Valley on Twitter, @CynderSkull25, asked Eric Barone (the game’s creator) for some clues about the upcoming update. Barone responded with a few early details about what players can expect in update 1.7, though he mentioned he’s not quite ready to share everything yet. He did offer a general idea of the scope of the planned content.

We’re planning to add more depth to the characters and social interactions, and as is customary, we’ll introduce a new farm type. There’s plenty more in the works, but we want to keep most of it a surprise for now.

The main news is that the 1.7 update for Stardew Valley will add a new farm type, continuing a trend with major updates for the game.
