Okay, just a heads-up: I’m about to talk about the trailer for Avengers: Doomsday, which means there will definitely be spoilers for the movie itself. Seriously, if you haven’t seen the trailer and want to go in completely fresh, you might want to skip this! We’re living in a time where even trailers give stuff away, so consider yourself warned!
Avengers: Endgame apparently wasn’t the end for Steve Rogers after alll…
I just saw the first teaser for Avengers: Doomsday – it’s playing before Avatar: Fire and Ash in theaters, but it hasn’t hit the internet yet. And honestly, it’s a bit of a surprise. The whole teaser focuses on Chris Evans, the original Captain America! They spent ages announcing the cast a few months back, and he wasn’t even in that initial list. He played Steve Rogers from the very first Captain America movie in 2011 all the way through Avengers: Endgame in 2019, so it’s interesting to see him back in the spotlight for this one.
Originally, Endgame was meant to be Chris Evans’ farewell to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, the trailer for Doomsday suggests otherwise, featuring Evans in his Captain America suit, a baby, and the promise that “Steve Rogers Will Return in Avengers: Doomsday.” It seems he’s not retiring after all.
The preview features a release countdown just like the one the Russo brothers shared on Instagram. It’s counting down the next twelve months until the movie Doomsday comes out next holiday season.
With Chris Evans now confirmed to be in Doomsday, the movie will bring back both actors who previously seemed to have finished with their Marvel roles in Endgame. The film was also expected to be Robert Downey Jr.’s final appearance as an iconic Marvel character, but he’s now set to play Doctor Doom in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – a casting announcement made at San Diego Comic-Con earlier this year.
The movie will star Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd, Simu Liu, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Channing Tatum, and Tom Hiddleston. Plus, it will include the entire casts of both the Thunderbolts and The Fantastic Four: First Steps films, along with many other actors. Just looking at how many people are in the cast makes me think this movie is going to be incredibly long – maybe even fourteen hours!
The new Avengers movie, Doomsday, will be released in theaters on December 18, 2026. You can find a detailed look at the movie’s teaser trailer below.
The Weirdest Movie and TV Food of 2025

5. P.F. Chang’s Pink Slip Ube Cheesecake (For Freakier Friday)
P.F. Chang’s cleverly tied into the 2003 movie Freaky Friday and its sequel, Freakier Friday, by creating a special menu item. They offered a “Pink Slip Ube Cheesecake” – a dessert featuring creamy purple sweet potato and vanilla cheesecake, strawberry-vanilla sauce, pink glitter, and freeze-dried dragon fruit. The layered look of the cheesecake was meant to reflect the body-swap theme of the movie, though a dessert that tasted like something unexpected would have been even more fitting. However, the dessert didn’t quite hit the mark. While the texture was good, it lacked flavor. I took my kids to try it, and they were both unimpressed – one disliked the taste, and the other wouldn’t even try it. It ended up being a colorful, but ultimately bland, disc of mush.

4. McDonald’s Grinch Salt Fries (For The Grinch)
McDonald’s created a special holiday menu for 2025 themed around the Grinch. Customers could get a classic meal like a Big Mac or Chicken McNuggets with a pair of Grinch socks, but the standout item was “Dill Pickle Grinch Salt McShaker Fries” – essentially pickle-flavored fries.
While I enjoy the taste of pickles, these fries were a bit of a mess. Customers had to add a packet of “Grinch Salt” to regular fries themselves. The dill flavor was good, but very subtle, so you had to cover the fries in a lot of the seasoning, making them gritty and sandy.
The unpleasant texture actually made me dislike all limited-time holiday food from fast-food chains – which, ironically, fits the Grinch’s theme of ruining celebrations.

Wednesday’s Dips of Dread (For Wednesday)
Ordering Wendy’s special meal on Wednesdays, which featured mystery-flavored sauces, was a truly unsettling experience. Customers could get chicken nuggets with one of four possible sauces – You Can’t Hyde, This Will Sting, Grave Mistake, or Nowhere to Woe. To try more than one flavor, I bought two orders of nuggets, but unfortunately received four servings of the exact same pink sauce. It felt like a perfect representation of a disappointing 2025 – just four cups of unknown, creamy substance.

2. Tostitos Oliver’s Dip (For Only Murders in the Building)
To promote the new season of the Hulu series Only Murders in the Building, Tostitos sent me a metal briefcase containing a puzzle. You needed a blacklight to solve it, and the reward was a limited-edition jar of “Oliver’s Dip” – a unique flavor you couldn’t buy in stores.
The idea was clever, since Martin Short’s character on the show loves dips, but I quickly discovered why Tostitos wasn’t planning to sell this dip widely: it didn’t taste very good. It was a strange mix of onion and jalapeño flavors (jalapeños were the third ingredient, after water and canola oil). While that combination sounds appealing, the dip ended up being sour instead of spicy. After just a few bites, I threw the jar away.

1. Popeye’s Cupcake Cup (For Five Nights at Freddy’s 2)
We often say we eat with our eyes, and my eyes were genuinely horrified by the “cupcake cup” offered as part of Popeye’s strange Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 menu. It’s odd, because Freddy’s is a pizza place, yet they’ve partnered with a fried chicken restaurant for a tie-in meal! It was described as a moist, strawberry-flavored cake with pink icing, but it was actually a spongy, overly sweet mess soaked in corn syrup. I haven’t seen Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 yet, but if it involves Josh Hutcherson being forced to eat these cupcake cups by robotic bears for five nights straight, it’s easily the scariest movie of the decade.
