Supergiant Games has created a fantastic follow-up to their popular game, Hades 2. It’s been highly praised by both critics and players, earning a spot as one of Metacritic’s top games of 2025. While most found Hades 2 almost flawless, a common issue emerged after players unlocked the game’s true ending. Now, Supergiant Games has announced the details of its first update, showing they’ve listened to player feedback.
Many players of Hades 2 felt the game’s true ending wasn’t satisfying after the long and challenging journey to reach it. They were hoping for a more rewarding conclusion. Fortunately, Supergiant Games is planning to address this. While the official patch isn’t out yet, players can now try out an early version of the updates. Along with announcing the preview, Supergiant released details about Patch 1, which will include improvements to the true ending.
Early Hades 2 Patch 1 Notes Reveal True Ending Enhancements for the Underworld

So, Patch 1 for Hades 2 is live, and it’s not just about squashing bugs and tweaking balance – though it does that too! The big news for me is they’re actually tackling the ending. A lot of us felt it was a little… abrupt, honestly. They’ve added what they’re calling ‘True Ending Enhancements’ in the Steam preview build, which basically means they’re adding more events leading up to the finale. Hopefully, this will flesh things out and make the ending feel more satisfying – I’m really excited to check it out!
To unlock the True Ending, players will now need to complete the Underworld more often. We’ve also expanded the ending with new scenes that show more of what happens after defeating Time. This change aims to make the True Ending feel more challenging to earn, despite Chronos being the last boss in the game.
With Patch 1 for Hades 2, players can enjoy an improved ending and a new incantation called Returning to a Real Possibility. This spell lets you revisit the moments before the True Ending, allowing you to experience the updated story again without having to begin a new game.

The first post-launch patch for Hades 2 mainly focuses on improving the game’s ending, addressing a key concern players had. The update adds new scenes and content for those who felt the original ending was lacking. You can try out Patch 1 now in preview mode, but keep in mind there might be further adjustments before the final release. Supergiant Games hasn’t announced a specific date for the full patch, so if you’re not eager to experience the new ending immediately, it might be best to wait. However, if you can’t get enough Hades 2, jumping in now will let you experience the new content twice!
In addition to the big updates, we’re also making some smaller tweaks to things like Keepsakes, Boons & Blessings, and the Fated List. You can find a complete rundown of all the changes in the early patch notes preview on Steam from Supergiant Games.
