First Look at Harry Potter TV Series with New Cast Revealed – Fans are Shocked!

Since the initial announcement of the new Harry Potter adaptation back in 2023, we’ve journeyed a fair distance, and now, at last, it’s started filming.

The upcoming series, scheduled for release on HBO and HBO Max in 2027 (even in the UK, where the platform isn’t available yet), is currently being filmed at Warner Bros Studios in Leavesden.

Kicking off the production process, an initial sneak peek has been given featuring Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, grasping a clapperboard. You can view this preview image right up there.

Simultaneously, fresh actors have been revealed for the roles. Specifically, Rory Wilmot and Amos Kitson will be portraying Neville Longbottom and Dudley Dursley in future performances.

In the same vein, I, too, am excited to share that Louise Brealey, much like the enigmatic Sherlock, will bring Madam Rolanda Hooch to life, while Andor’s Anton Lesser will step into the shoes of Garrick Ollivander in our upcoming production.

In addition to the previously announced costume designer, Holly Waddington, several new department heads for the series have been confirmed: Adriano Goldman takes on the role of Director of Photography, Cate Hall is now in charge of Hair and Makeup Design, Paul Herbert has been appointed as Stunt Coordinator, and Mark Holt will serve as SFX Supervisor.

In addition to the existing department leaders, we have new appointments: Mara LePere-Schloop takes on the role of Production Designer, Naomi Moore becomes Set Decorator, John Nolan is our Creature Effects Design Supervisor, Alexis Wajsbrot is now our VFX Supervisor, and Dom Sidoli joins us as VFX Producer.

The initial season of this series will draw inspiration from J.K. Rowling’s first Harry Potter book, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.” Each following season will tackle one of the remaining novels, aiming to adapt all seven books in total.
