The upcoming live-action Street Fighter movie is gradually coming together, and for Guile, this means a distinctive flat-top hairdo will be adopted in the film. Cody Rhodes, a popular WWE star, has been cast as Guile. This week, an initial image of him in costume was shared online, though it doesn’t provide a detailed view of the character. However, it does offer enough of a glimpse to confirm that his portrayal will remain true to the video games and other media we’re familiar with. The image showcases one side of Rhodes’ body, displaying boots, camouflage cargo pants, and a black jacket, but what stands out is the shadow on the pavement, which reveals an accurate silhouette of Guile’s unique hairstyle from previous representations.
I, being a diehard fan, couldn’t help but share an exciting find I stumbled upon! It was none other than Andrew Schulz, our beloved Dan Hibiki from Street Fighter, who initially shared a fascinating snapshot on his Instagram Story. If not for the quick-witted fans, this visual gem would have vanished after a day, leaving us all in the dark about its intricate details.
However, since we’re lucky enough to live in an era where screenshots can immortalize fleeting moments, we were able to dissect it further. From what I gather, the picture clearly suggests that Andrew and Rhodes are together, and they both seem to be donning costumes – a sign that they might have already started filming on set!
The movie is slated for filming throughout this fall in the enchanting city of Sydney, Australia. So keep your eyes peeled for updates, fellow Street Fighter enthusiasts!

Street Fighter Character Select
In this part, Rhodes carries a significant responsibility since Guile was the central character in the 1994 live-action Street Fighter film, portrayed by action star Jean-Claude Van Damme. The memory of his performance is cherished by many fans even now. But, this could be an ideal casting decision for Rhodes as he will likely play the role uniquely compared to Van Damme’s portrayal.
The latest update on the live-action Street Fighter film revolves around its star-studded ensemble, which has been progressively coming together for approximately four months. Notable additions include Andrew Koji as Ryu, Noah Centineo as Ken, Jason Momoa as Blanka, Roman Reigns as Akuma, Orville Peck as Vega, Eric André as the Windbag announcer, with Callina Liang taking on Chun-Li, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog, and Hirooki Goto in negotiations for E. Honda.
The upcoming movie, titled “Street Fighter,” is currently being penned by Dalan Musson and overseen by Kitao Sakurai in terms of direction. However, as of now, a specific release date has yet to be announced. Initially slated for March 2026, the movie has been completely withdrawn from Sony Pictures Releasing and Legendary Entertainment’s schedules.
