First-person puzzle game Chroma Zero now available for PS5

Evan Korzon has launched a new first-person puzzle game called Chroma Zero on the PlayStation 5. It’s available now on the PlayStation Store for $9.99, according to the developer.

Chroma Zero first launched for PC via Steam on December 12, 2024.

Here is an overview of the game, via Evan Korzon:

About

Discover a beautifully interconnected world, learn about its delicate ecosystems, and delve into profound mysteries – you’ll find more than just solutions along the way.

Chroma Zero is a mysterious and dynamic world filled with color and energy. It’s a game that will surprise you and test your instincts. Instead of traditional levels, puzzles are built directly into the environment, and the world around you can change instantly. The game encourages you to explore and rewards your curiosity.

Gameplay

Players typically take 6 to 12 hours to complete the game, and a little longer if they want to discover everything it has to offer. Progress isn’t usually blocked by difficulty, but rather by figuring things out through exploration and trying different approaches.

This game is a unique, exploratory experience with a bit of challenge, created by a single developer. While generally light and fun, the story can be surprisingly moving. The puzzles get harder as you progress, but the game provides subtle hints to keep you on track – you’ll usually understand what to do, even if the how isn’t immediately clear. I drew inspiration from games like Antichamber, Outer Wilds, Myst/Riven, and the sense of discovery in Tunic. My goal is to create more games that prioritize that special feeling of a first, surprising playthrough.
