Just hours before Sony’s official reveal, billbil-kun, a consistently accurate source of information, has leaked one of the free PlayStation Plus Essential games for January 2026.
A reliable source who has often accurately predicted PlayStation Plus games has revealed that Need for Speed Unbound will be one of the free games offered next month.
If the recent leak is accurate, Need for Speed Unbound will be offered to PlayStation Plus subscribers on all membership levels. We don’t know what the other free games will be yet, but Sony is expected to reveal them later today.
Need for Speed Unbound is the newest installment in the popular arcade racing franchise, created by Criterion Games. While the game received generally positive reviews, its unique, cartoon-style graphics proved divisive among players – some loved them, while others didn’t.
I’m super excited to say the game will be available to download starting January 6th, 2026! Then you can finally check it out and see what you think for yourself.
So, Need for Speed Unbound is one of the free games for PlayStation Plus Essential this January – what do you guys think about that? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!
