Following some bumpy progression, the release of Football Manager 25 was ultimately scrapped earlier this year. Instead, Sports Interactive decided to pour all their efforts into this year’s Football Manager 26.
However, since that announcement regarding FM26, the team hasn’t provided much information, leading us to gather most updates about the game from Sega’s periodic financial statements.
Now, things have taken a completely different turn. We’ve just been given a sneak peek at the fresh, revamped game graphics, and boy, they are nothing short of stunning!
On the Football Manager Twitter account, a brief video was shared, featuring a compilation of real-life and game footage. This snippet displays both teams making their way onto the pitch ahead of a Premier League match.
Regarding the nearly featureless characters seen in Football Manager up to version FM24, it seems like a significant improvement is being made.
According to SI, one primary cause of FM25’s delay has been attributed to the extensive labor involved in transitioning to the new Unity engine. This engine, designed to deliver a significant visual upgrade, turned out to be more challenging than anticipated.
Indeed, it seems our efforts have proven fruitful, as this upgrade significantly surpasses the current state of the game, even though it might not reach the level of FC 26 visuals.
Regarding the release date, there’s been no announcement yet. However, the tweet assures us that the FM26 Match Day First Look will be arriving shortly.
As a dedicated gamer, I’ve got to admit that I’ve heard similar sentiments before about the issues surrounding Sports Interactive (SI). With players expressing their dissatisfaction over SI’s communication regarding Football Manager 25 and 26, it’s clear that they need to step up their game if they want to win back the community ahead of the anticipated release of FM26 this year.
Until then, it’s back to managing in the Romanian SuperLiga for me.
