Former Disney Channel Star Is Writing a New Comic Book Series at Image Comics

Image Comics scored big with their latest series, “Lost Fantasy”, and instead of taking a break now that the initial storyline has ended, they’re accelerating full steam ahead. This momentum includes the launch of a spinoff series penned by Franklin Jonas, who is not only well-known as a singer and songwriter, but also previously starred on Disney Channel‘s “Jonas”. Now, Franklin is making his entry into the comic book world, starting with issue #5 of “Lost Fantasy”.

For those unfamiliar, “Lost Fantasy” is a unique comic series published by Image Comics that takes place in a world much like our own, except it’s connected to a mystical realm hidden beneath us for centuries. A hundred years ago, the boundary between these two realms was breached, allowing monstrous creatures to invade our world. Since then, elite hunters called Great Hunters have collaborated with global leaders to maintain secrecy and protect the planet. Unfortunately, a mysterious event has pierced the defenses, resulting in a massacre in Montana, which could potentially jeopardize the precarious peace of the entire world. The series is written by Curt Pires and illustrated by Luca Casalanguida.

Lost Fantasy Is Special and Growing

Although it’s his initial attempt at writing a comic book, Jonas is not new to the medium. He stated: “Comics have been my deepest passion since before I even started singing. Writing a book was always a dream, and being associated with the fascinating world of Lost Fantasy is an immense honor. I’ve been promoting Lost Fantasy since its release. When Curt approached me about collaborating on this exciting new project, I didn’t hesitate. Curt is incredibly talented, and working alongside him has already been an inspiring journey. I can’t wait for people to see what we’ve been developing.

Jonas clearly can’t contain his enthusiasm for what lies ahead, and I wholeheartedly share his excitement. This comic not only creates an innovative and genre-defining new universe, but also welcomes fresh talent to breathe life into it. Essentially, this is a comic book crafted by and for ardent comic book enthusiasts like ourselves. Although ‘Lost Fantasy’ is still in its early stages, its unique charm is already evident. In fact, very few comics have spawned spin-offs before completing their initial story arc. The universe it’s developing is growing rapidly, with issue #5 introducing a new character as Henry grapples with the murder of a loved one, while also hinting at an upcoming series.

Lost Fantasy #5 and Lost Fantasy, Volume 1 both go on sale Wednesday, November 19th!
