Former Strictly Come Dancing star confirmed as new Escape to the Country presenter

Richie Anderson is set to appear on the presenter team for the forthcoming 26th season of Escape to the Country.

This extended TV show will air an impressive 50 episodes in the current year, giving ample chances to highlight the breathtaking rural vistas of Britain. As audiences accompany the host and potential purchasers, they’ll get a peek at some of the United Kingdom’s most enchanting countryside residences.

To numerous listeners, it might be Richie’s voice they recognize best, given his consistent presence on BBC Radio 2, where he hosts his very own program.

The presenter frequently appears on The One Show and has been contributing to the BBC’s Eurovision Song Contest broadcast for the last four years. This year, Richie collaborated with Sara Cox in providing commentary during the semi-finals on Radio 2 and BBC Sounds. In 2022, he participated in Strictly Come Dancing.

In this upcoming episode of Escape to the Country, Richie assists a pair of lifelong Brummies in locating their ideal charming countryside home nestled within the tranquil Midlands region.

As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled beyond words to be part of this legendary television series. It’s truly an honor to join the stellar lineup of presenters that Escape to the Country boasts. This show was a significant factor in my decision to leave the bustling city life of London for a more tranquil, rural existence.

I’m thrilled to impart my passion for the countryside to our home buyers, and it’s a great honor to be part of their journey and help narrate their unique tales. My debut episode takes place in my familiar territory within The Midlands, an area that is usually underestimated regarding country living. So, I can’t wait to unveil some hidden treasures for you!

In the upcoming season, Richie joins a group of regular hosts including Alistair Appleton, Briony May Williams, Denise Nurse, Ginny Buckley, Jules Hudson, Nicki Chapman, Sonali Shah, and Steve Brown. John Comerford, from Naked West (a Fremantle label), expresses his enthusiasm: “For more than two decades, Escape to the Country has shared the charm and history of the British countryside with viewers. It showcases the country’s exceptional rural housing and aids real people in starting a new life. We’re thrilled to have Richie join our talented team of presenters.”
