Fortnite update today (5th February): What changes in the v39.40 patch notes

Fortnite’s latest update, v39.40, brings exciting new collaborations to the game! Players can now enjoy content from the Pink Pinny Club and experience a special Fortnite Festival event featuring the artist Chappell Roan.

Okay, so Roan’s getting three new looks in the game! There are two pink and red hairstyles that are totally inspired by her Pink Pony Club era, and then there’s this awesome ‘Roan of Arc’ skin – it’s based on her outfit from when she performed ‘Good Luck Babe’ at the 2024 VMAs. It looks amazing!

Fortnite has a new lobby designed to match the artist’s medieval-glam style. Her song “Pink Pony Club” is now available in Fortnite Festival Season 13, alongside returning favorites like “Good Luck, Babe!”, “HOT TO GO!”, and “The Giver.”

On February 6th, a new update called Love and Legends will introduce golden-themed outfits for Rumi, Zoey, and Mira from the HUNTR/X group. Jinu from the Saja Boys will also receive a new, demonic-inspired look.

Ugh, looks like Google’s reCAPTCHA is blocking me from seeing this! The game keeps telling me I need to sign out of Contentpass first to get it working. Seriously annoying when you’re trying to jump right in!

The update includes a couple of new items, like the Flowberry Mist Grenade. This grenade both conceals your position and replenishes your shields. Anyone caught in the mist experiences reduced gravity, making it a useful way to defend yourself.

The Enforcer and Tactical rifles are now more powerful. Submachine guns have also been improved with increased ammo and damage, making them much more effective in combat.

The Sovereign Shotgun and Tactical Pistol also receive a buff to their damage output.

The much-anticipated Lock-On Assault weapon is finally here, and it works similarly to the Lock-On Pistol that was added in Chapter 4 Season 2 – it automatically tracks and follows enemies.
