As a huge gamer, I’m so hyped for Grand Theft Auto 6 finally coming out next year! With that massive release on the horizon, it feels like other big companies, like Microsoft, have a clear path to announce some of their own big games. I’m really hoping we’ll get release dates for titles like Fable, Gears of War: E-Day, and maybe even Halo: Campaign Evolved either at The Game Awards this year or at the next Developer_Direct event. But it sounds like at least one major game is still planning to stick to the release window they’ve already hinted at.
We’re discussing Forza Horizon 6, which reliable insider NateTheHate previously predicted would be released in the first half of next year. He’s recently confirmed that timeframe is still likely.
Historically, games in this series have usually come out in the fall. For example, Forza Horizon 5 launched in November 2021 and became Xbox’s biggest first-party release at that time. So, why the change? Microsoft might be aiming to avoid conflicts with other projects they have in development and keep the latter half of the year open.
Okay, so we’ll have to wait and see how it all pans out, but I’m hyped for Forza Horizon 6! It’s launching on Xbox Series X/S and PC right away, and PlayStation 5 players will get it a little later. The best part? It’s set in Japan, and Playground Games is saying it’s going to be their biggest and most detailed map ever. Seriously, they’re promising a lot with this one.
First half 2026 has been the target and remains as such.
