It’s no surprise that the upcoming *Forza Horizon 6* will feature a wide variety of cars. While the developers aren’t sharing specific details just yet – those will come in early 2026 – art director Don Arceta and culture consultant Kyoko Yamashita recently told Xbox Wire they’re focused on accurately portraying the region’s distinct car scene.
Arceta shared that the new game will feature a wide variety of popular cars, similar to *Forza Horizon 5*. They’re especially excited to showcase Japan’s distinctive car culture within the game.
Yamashita described the depth and variety of Japanese car culture as “amazing,” highlighting the dedicated fan bases for kei cars and vans, the history of motorsports and drifting, and the strong emphasis on personalization. He explained that this culture embraces all levels of interest and expertise, and that’s the immersive experience he wants players to have in the game.
It’s likely Kei cars will be featured in the game, as the development team was previously seen scanning them – a detail that initially sparked rumors about *Forza Horizon 6*. Considering Japan’s strong automotive history, we can also expect to see popular brands like Nissan, Subaru, and Mazda. The big question now is exactly which models will make the cut.
Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of *Forza Horizon 6*, currently scheduled for 2026. The game will initially be available on Xbox Series X/S and PC, including through Game Pass, and will eventually come to PS5 with support from Turn 10 Studios. You can find details about the game’s open-world locations and how dynamic seasons will affect gameplay and the overall experience here.
