The Metro games are a highly praised series of first-person shooters. All three main games are fan favorites, though each one has evolved a bit, becoming slightly more accessible over time. They’re known for their deliberate pace and often tight, immersive environments. Now, for a limited time, you can get the entire trilogy at a remarkably low price.
You can get all three Metro games – Metro 2033 Redux, Metro Last Light Redux, and Metro Exodus – for just $5.99 each on the PlayStation Store until December 15th at 11:59 PM Pacific Time. This deal is part of PlayStation’s larger “End of Year Deals” sale, which features many other discounted games. The bundle includes the PS4 versions of Metro 2033 Redux and Metro Last Light Redux, and both the PS4 and PS5 versions of Metro Exodus. Normally priced at $59.99, this is the best price this collection has ever been offered for on PlayStation.
This package includes all downloadable content for the series, featuring the complete remastered versions of the first two games and the Gold Edition of Exodus. The Exodus season includes two full story campaigns.
Good news for my fellow Xbox players – we can snag this deal too! It’s the same bundle for $5.99 on the Xbox store. We actually have a little extra time to grab it, it’ll be live until sometime on December 18th. And if you’re on Xbox Series X, you’re in for a treat – both 2033 and Last Light run at a super smooth 120 frames per second thanks to FPS Boost. Plus, the bundle includes the Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition, which is basically a fully upgraded version of the game built to really show off what the Xbox Series X|S can do with things like ray tracing and awesome lighting effects.
You can find all three games on Steam for $1.99, $1.99, and $5.99 each. Buying them together as a bundle costs $7.49, which is a little more. The first two games are also available on Switch, but they aren’t currently discounted. The new VR game, Metro Awakening, released in 2024, isn’t on sale for PS5. However, the Deluxe Edition of Metro Awakening is on sale for $21.99 on PC – a significant drop from its regular price of $49.99.
What Is the Metro Series About?

The Metro games are inspired by the popular post-apocalyptic novels by Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky, set in a world where people have been driven underground by nuclear disaster. The game series has been developed exclusively by 4A Games, except for one separate virtual reality title.
These three first-person shooter games are praised not for explosive action, but for a more thoughtful approach. Players are encouraged to be careful, gather supplies, move stealthily, and sometimes avoid fighting altogether. Ammunition is scarce – and can even be used as money – and death comes quickly, especially if you don’t have the right filters for your gas mask. You’ll face both human opponents and dangerous mutant creatures, each requiring different strategies to overcome, which keeps the gameplay varied.
While the series consistently aims for strategic gameplay, each new game features a bit more action. Exodus is particularly interesting because it maintains the thoughtful, tactical shooting the series is known for, but also delivers more intense and responsive firefights. Plus, moving the action to the surface world allows for much more diverse and interesting environments.
More importantly, Exodus doesn’t just use its open areas for show. These spaces allow genuine exploration because the map isn’t cluttered with icons, encouraging players to really pay attention to the world and get immersed in it, rather than just rushing through objectives like in games such as Far Cry. While the increased action and larger areas might suggest the Metro series had strayed from its roots, 4A Games successfully maintained the core elements that define the franchise.
