Fran Drescher Recreates Iconic The Nanny Look 26 Years Later

She had style, she had flair, she was there.

Fran Drescher paid tribute to her famous role in The Nanny by wearing a stylish, leopard-print dress to her Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony on September 30th. The dress was notably form-fitting, echoing the fashion sense of her character.

The day was dedicated to celebrating the actress’ impressive career, so her costars Nicholle Tom and Madeline Zima decided to get style inspiration from Fran Fine’s wardrobe. Both Tom and Lisa Ann Walter, a longtime friend of Drescher’s, chose bold, animal-print outfits. Meanwhile, Zima wore a large blazer – a popular look from the 1990s.

Rounding out The Nanny reunion? Drescher’s ex-husband Peter Marc Jacobson, who created the show.

Everything you’ve heard about Hollywood is accurate: it truly is a place where dreams come true, but it’s incredibly important to stay humble and true to yourself,” Drescher, 68, explained in her speech. “Holding onto your longtime friends and always remembering your roots are also key.”

She went on to say that we are all flawed and constantly learning from our errors and challenges. She emphasized that kindness and compassion should guide our actions, helping us to navigate life correctly.

This wasn’t the first time the cast of The Nanny reunited since the CBS show ended in 1999 after six seasons. Just recently, Drecher and her co-star Charles Shaughnessy had dinner with former executive producers of The Nanny, including Jacobson.

Then, in August, Drescher supported Tom and fellow cast member Renée Taylor while attending their play, Dying Is No Excuse!.

“It was a truly magical theatrical performance,” Drescher shared on Instagram. “This success honors the beautiful, intricate, and loving partnership and marriage of Renee Taylor & Joe Bologna.”

For the previous SAG-AFTRA president, seeing the “flashback scenes” showing the real couple’s experiences “together through The Nanny and Joe’s fight with cancer” was particularly touching.

Oh my gosh, you guys, the cast is just amazing! I was SO excited to see The Nanny‘s Nicholle Tom – she’s absolutely fearless and incredible as Renee. And Jack Maxwell from Booze Traveler? Seriously, a *tour de force* as Joe! I’m telling you, he completely blew me away. But it’s not just them! The other actors are total pros, those character actor types who can play *so* many different roles and really make the story feel alive with all the different versions of everyone throughout their lives.
