Mia Goth, known for her work in the X movies, is starring as Elizabeth Harlander in Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming film, Frankenstein. She recently revealed she was incredibly nervous about working with del Toro, admitting she was “so scared” of not doing the role justice.

Mia Goth recently revealed she felt anxious and unsure of herself before playing Elizabeth in the new Frankenstein movie directed by Guillermo del Toro.

In an interview with Variety, Anya Taylor-Joy shared that she felt exceptionally anxious starting work on the film. She admitted she’d never been so nervous about taking on a role, and was worried about meeting the high standards set by director Guillermo del Toro. She explained that the pressure led her to constantly overthink things during filming.

I remember thinking to myself, ‘Wow, Guillermo del Toro is *finally* making Frankenstein – the movie I’ve always dreamed of him directing – and I’m actually in it!’ Honestly, I was terrified I’d mess it up and be the weak link in something so special.

Goth managed her anxiety by practicing meditation, which allowed her to overcome self-doubt and truly embody her character. As she explained, she focused on the feeling of peaceful clarity that comes with opening your eyes, and that’s what she brought to the role of Elizabeth.

Goth is part of a fantastic cast including Oscar Isaac, who plays Dr. Frankenstein, as well as Jacob Elordi, Felix Kammerer, and Lars Mikkelsen. Guillermo del Toro’s new film, *Frankenstein*, will be in theaters starting October 17th and available to stream on Netflix from November 7th.
