Frankie Grande, brother of the star of Wicked: For Good, shared good news about her health after she announced she tested positive for COVID-19 while promoting the film.

Oh my gosh, I just read the best news! Her brother actually told Daryn Carp at the Out100 event that she’s doing okay! He said he’s sending her all the love and healing she needs, and that she’s been working so hard. I’m just so relieved and happy to hear she’s keeping busy – it’s amazing! I’m constantly thinking about her and sending positive energy her way, too!

“We’ve all had COVID at this point,” he continued. “We know that she’s going to be fine.”

At the event, where Niecy Nash-Betts received the Icon of the Year Award, the singer of “Hotel Rock Bottom” also complimented his sister’s performance as Glinda the Good in the movie version of the Broadway show. He said her return to the Oscar-nominated role was “fantastic.”

He was incredibly impressed, saying he’d watched it four times and it was amazing each time. He noted he always discovers something new about his sister’s character with every viewing, praising her masterful performance and encouraging everyone to go see it.

The 42-year-old also received recognition at the event, which celebrated the most influential LGBTQ+ individuals of 2025.

He said he was truly honored to be recognized this year. He dedicates his life to serving his community, and everything he creates – all his art and work – is meant to encourage others to embrace their true selves.

The Dance Moms alum didn’t give it a second thought when she came out in a 2021 Instagram story. 

She shared with People magazine in October 2023 that she came out at 17, but didn’t realize how significant that decision was at the time. She also admitted she didn’t understand why it felt frightening.

She added that her pasties and revealing clothing never felt sexual to her. She explained she became aware of her sexuality around fifth or sixth grade, and her first romantic relationship was with a woman.

She doesn’t understand why she struggles with it – she knows it shouldn’t be a problem, but she’s realizing she needs to accept her feelings as they are.

I addressed it on Instagram Live, explaining that I hadn’t explicitly said it before, but I identify as queer and want my music to reflect who I truly am.

Chrishell, who started dating the Australian singer in 2022, explained to TopMob News that genuine love means prioritizing your partner’s happiness, even if it conflicts with your own views.
